Orzo Recipes

In Italian Primavera means spring, and the sauce should be made with the first vegetables out in the spring. In the winter you might use such vegetables as broccoli, red peppers and zucchini. Enjoy

The rice-shaped pasta orzo is sometimes labeled riso or rosamarina.

Serve as a side dish with nearly any meat.

Cooked fowl may be brushed with melted butter and lemon, and browned in oven before serving. It may be done whole, or cut in serving pieces.

(*You could probably substitute cooked chicken strips for the shrimp, no need to cook it further.)

Green, red or yellow bell peppers can be used.

If you want a totally "pastaless" recipe, I would just leave out the orzo and cut down on the liquid accordingly.
